Pro copywriting Tips For Better Sales

Copywriters charge on average $75 or more per 500 word article because they are excellent writers and bring sales. Period. It is to your benefit to develop your copywriting skills not only to save money when starting your business but also to survive in your business. You won't be able to afford a little tweak or a little touch on your sales page everytime you change something, a product etc... If you spend so much on copywriting, your competition will simply eat you for lunch.

If you are a blogger making money from adsense, banner or text advertising it is one thing, however if you are sending out promotions to your mailing list you are into a different income stratosphere where copywriting skills is obrigatory.

Ok. And now for some real tips you can use.

A. Using "You" to address your potential clients.

Personalize the writing so the lead or potential client feels special not just part of the group or bunch. He or she doesn't care how long you've been in business or how many employees you have. Tell them what's in it for them.
When you use YOU in your writing, your talking on their level and from their perspective. This is critical for great copywriting.

B. Use The P.S Postscript To Grab Attention

Headlines , Headlines. Yes you need great headlines but you also need great Post Script otherwise the great headline will be in vain. Best way to study good post script is to read some spam emails that actually make it to your inbox.

C. How Long Should My Copy Be?

Most of the time I hear, keep your copy short because people have short attention spans to sales letters. The correct rule however, is keep it as short as possible but long enough to clearly state the benefits and solutions of your product or service. No point keeping the copy short so the client doesn't feel he is getting enough for the money.

D. Know What Your Selling And What You're Talking About

I always felt the best way to sell something is if you have personally used it, so whenever you can try to do this before selling it. This way it becomes more of a review also and not such a strong hyped up selling pitch that you usually see from all the clickbank products. If you can't use the product first try to at least get as much info on it as possible either from forums etc. Don't trust testimonials however. I heard they are for sale for marketers.

E. Headlines Headlines Headlines

Ok. If you get this wrong everything else is irrelevant. Because headlines are the most important they also happen to be the hardest to get right. With practice as well as reading others, you will get better and better. Start by writing any headline that is appropriate and you think will get attention. By the time you have written the rest of the article, sales letter etc.. you may get a better headline or maybe even when you take a washroom break, coffee break.

Hope these were helpfull. Remember to pay attention to headlines and post script in those spam emails you get. Don't spend all day just a few minutes a day. Good luck and good copy.
