If you read some of the free ebooks as well as the paid ebooks on making money online you will get quite inspired thinking i should make money just around the corner. The youtube videos echo the same tone.

The truth however is that a very small percentage of people make money online. How small? It is reported only about 5% actually make a living, which i assume means at least $2400/month.

So we need to ask ourselves why such a small percentage make a living. Well, i believe these same marketing gurus are partly to blame, since they represent the online business market as “easy money” and “get rich quick”. Therefore, when people dive in and realize its not like that, they throw in the towel.

Had these people only read reports like these they may have stuck with it. While the online business is not as easy as represented by salesmen (uhmm what a surprise) it still provides an excellent opportunity to earn a living, have more free time and live anywhere in the world. As far as becoming rich, yes this too is possible, however, there is one factor that cannot be skipped here and that is time. In order to grow from your present income you must continue the same work effort that you invested when you started your business. Let me explain this a little further for those that have high figure goals from the internet.

When you start you will have to invest plenty of time everytime to bring your business, traffic to a thresh hold or critical mass. This will not matter if you use adwords, or free organic seo strategy. Either way you need lots of preparation. After about 6 months you may have the hang of things , are making $3000 a month and  are happy. You will have to invest very few hours now to maintain this income. However, if you want to grow in income, I’m afraid the tough work must continue. You have to keep it up until you get to that desired high figure. Unfortunately, that is a reality that cannot be avoided.

So, in order to make money online you must understand that you will have to do quite a bid of work in the first 3-6 months and at times up to 1 year. If you are prepared to invest some money into advertising such as Adwords, the work can be diminished substantially because the internet business model still favors the minority which are those who are prepared to spend some to make some. So don’t buy into the hype of easy online money and online profits. They are just marketing tactics to make a sale.

You may have heard some people using search engine optimization software but if you have never really looked into it or purchased such software this short report going to clarify some things.  We all want to make money online so I have been using SEO elite for a few months now and here is what i have been doing with it.

1.  Scan google, yahoo, msn, altavista for websites with high page rank and  add url on the page. This is for finding backlinks for my websites and is stated in this fashion in the software

2. Spy on your adwords competition.   You enter keywords and it searches the advertisers and records them. You need this to determine who continues to advertise day after day for same keyword.  If they stay up there, they are probably making money. Then you can spy on their ads , products they promote etc..

3.  Analyze backlinks using a specified search engine.  This is my favorite and probably the most useful. Lets say your niche keyword is make money online.  You type it in on google and find out who number 1 is. You then enter this url in Seoelite and send it to work.  If crawls google or yahoo (depending on your configuration) and finds all the backlinks for the domain you entered( your competition in this case).  Nothing special so far right?

Well yes but, seo elite also organizes all the links by page rank, anchor text and alexa rank. How long will this take you to do manually? After the crawl is done, you can visit the sites by page rank and see if you can request backlinks from that site.

4.  Verify that all link partners are still linking back.   Ok this one is nothing special but its there.

5.  Find out how your site is ranked in various engines.   All done on autopilot without having to go several pages to next and next ….. You can set this up to do several keywords at once. Great time saver.

6.  Find out how many pages are indexed of your site.   Nothing special but a time saver. The more pages you have indexed the higher your ranking is because google values big websites more then smaller sites.

7.  Find possible authority websites.  This is good because if you find some you can request links from they are worth much more then any normal site.

8.  Submit your article to article directories.   Big time save again.

The best way to get started is to first figure out a niche or topic you like to talk about and are somewhat familiar with.
