I just finished reading a famous ebook about  blogging  and I wanted to comment about a strategy that is a lie. The ebook mentions that you could use software to build 400 blogs per day. When you reach at least 1000 blogs you wait for them to be indexed and since they are blogs this won’ t take long. Once the mass amount of blogs are indexed you can put a link of your main site on every one of these 1000 or more blogs you own.

Now, let me just say that I have thought of doing this about 8 years ago and even then I hightly doubt this would have worked let alone today.  The search engines are not that stupid. If they were, everyone would be doing this because I am sure you agree this is not such a genious concept.

The reason this would not work and the famous blogging ebook  fails to mention are the following:

1. Every one of those 1000 blogs would have to sit on a different class C IP and domain

2. Every one of those 1000 blogs would have to carry reasonably original content (at least 30%) in order for the one way links to be counted.

3. Every one of those 1000 blogs would need some backlinks eitherwise not much importance would be given to them.

So in the first point it means you need 1000 different hosts.  If you ask one host to give you say 50 ips where only the last 3 numbers change you might get away with 50 blogs pointing to one but 50 repeated 20 times I am sure will look suspicious. Especially since they are all pointing to the same website blog.

Point #2 is reasonable original content cannot just be created by switching a few words here and there in a piece of software. If you got a software for writing in bulk you can bet the big engines have got a better one for detecting it.

And finally point #3 probably the hardest of all to achieve. In msn the inbounds or backlinks maybe less important then google but not irrelevant. If you have a website in google that has no inbound links it will shortly be dropped from the index altogether. I guess they figure there are plenty of other sites that have inbounds amongst the billions that there is no need to clutter their hard drives with bottom of the barrel.

I happen to be on the newsletter list of Michael Cheney and if you don’t know who he is don’t worry neither do I. But reading his emails and visiting his website you realize he knows a thing or two about marketing. Today I followed the link in an email with subject “want to buy my business? ” or something along those lines. Upon reaching the video and sales page the video loads immediately. He tells me how he has created a product that he is willing to give to me 100% free in which I can sell for a minimum of $97 and keep 100% of the profits. The catch? I have to buy PLF 2.0 through his affiliate link.

Now PLF 2.0 which stands for Product Launch Formula is in pre-launch stage which means its not available yet. However, when it does become available due to significant hype should sell thousands of copies within a week. I don’t even know the price yet but suspect it will be close to $200 so Mr. Cheney as an affiliate should earn at least $100 for each copy.

I thought it was clever how he has invested time and money to create a product, and then give it away in an attempt to entice his affiliate sales. He in fact, may have invested $5000 to create the product. But the moment he has sold 50 copies all of that money has been compensated. I have heard these product launches reach thousands of sales within a week or 2 so I am sure Mr. Cheney alone will sell at least 100 copies through his affiliate link the first day or 2 and probably 1000 over several months. The more I read and learn I realize to make the big bucks you really need to think “spend some to make some”.

I recently heard of this new link building strategy and decided to investigate it further. 3 way linking is as follows: Site A links to Site B which links to Site C which links to Site A. This way site A is receiving a one way link from Site C and only site C. While this strategy is probably better then traditional reciprocal linking calling it one way linking is also not accurate. While you have site C linking to A, (you lets say) Site A still has to provide a link out to site B. So this means if you need say 1000 one way links to your site to rank high, you will need 1000 external links going out from that same page.

If you analyze the top ranked websites for competitive keywords on google you will notice that most have many more inbound links then outgoing links. In fact, if we take “make money online” without the quote  for instance, the top ranked website carlocab.com has over 800 inbound links to his main page. Can you imagine if he had 800 outbound links on the same page? He has little over 20. So before you get all hyped about what a great strategy this might be,  think again. The one 3 way linking network I found, does however mention a small niche as an example therefore, this form of linking may get you decent results for search terms with very little competition. Don’t be niave enough to think google does not know about all these strategies. They may at some point only give heavy value to inbounds with a very small percentage of external links, if they are not already doing this now.

Well this is going to be the shortest report on the internet. I hear many webmasters mentioning that its difficult for a new website to get crawled and indexed by google.

All I can see is I used no tools and no tricks and got one of my brand new websites indexed in 24 hours by google. The website is a one page wordpress blog with 97% photos totaling about 25 photos and thumbnails. My wordpress configuration has the default ping upon post to: http://rpc.pingomatic.com. I would say that is the only way google could have found the site. Perhaps adding technorati as the ping could have worked also. You are welcome to try. So there it is. That’s what I did to get a new site indexed in 24 hours.

Btw,  in case you’re thinking it was a coincidence and google just happened to be indexing that day for the entire month, the date the site went up was march 10 and it was in google march 11. As far as I know google indexes and updates sites at the end of the month. Unless they changed and it really was indexing time. I will launch more sites in a few days so will document this again with proof.

I landed on a sales page for a product called traffic booster pro yesterday and after reading the sales page I realized, to no surprise, that the product is completely useless. The software is described as a doorway cloaking tool similar to fantomaster. Essentially this and any other cloaking tools present one page to a human visitor but another more keyword optimized page for the search engine spiders.

He goes on to offer proof with his own website. He provides screenshots of his domain as it is ranked in google #1 or #3 for keywords “doorway script” and “doorway generator”.

So far, he is not lying. Check it yourself if you wish. But, how many searches are done per month or per day for these keywords? Zero per day thats how many. Go to overture search tool or any keyword tool and see for yourself. So, whoopy frikin doo. He got number #1 on google for those keywords. I can get #1 on google for “one eyed left handed midgets” easily also without software. This reminds me of the Traffic Geyser demo video. These guys post a video on youtube for some obscure search term that gets less then 4 searches per day and brag about how the video got #2 on google. So what. It won’t make you a frikin dime.

Well anyone who knows anything about search engine ranking can realize even if one was to use such a blackhat strategy, it is useless. Why? Because the search engines do not rank sites according to on page factors. The greatest determining factor in high rankings are backlinks pointing to your website. And since the cloaking programs show a page with zero backlinks its useless for ranking. Search engines know that it is easy to implement such software and spam away. The early days of the internet in the 1990’s it was easy to rank high by merely stuffing your website page with keywords. We all know its extremely difficult to manipulate your backlinks for high rankings which is why engines place so much importance on this.

Did you know that a cloaking software merchant gets away with charging $3000 for this? Yup, its the fantomaster i mentioned earlier. If you visit his site all he talks about is creating a optimized page for the engines to rank high. A page with no legitimate backlinks is useless so don’t fall for these software scams. They don’t work. Did you thnk google could be compromised so easily? Google got so popular because they are good. Very good infact.

What about the other engines you ask? Both Msn and Yahoo are also heavily giving importance to backlinks. But only backlinks recorded in their own database not googles.

There are many websites of every niche imaginable that have still not caught on this invaluable marketing strategy that with time, can make every online entrepreneur a fortune.

Every time a unique visitor lands on your website all smart marketers are displaying a newsletter subscription form for you to sign up. In exchange they usually offer you a free gift to entice you. If the free gift is good enough at least 50% of those that visit your website will sign up.

Let me fast forward a bit. Get 10,000 subscribers and depending on the niche you could be making $10,000 per month every month from that list by merely recommending products to them. If you get 200 visitors daily it would take a little over 3 months to get 10,000 subscribers. Not bad right?

You will also notice that many adwords advertisers and clickbank merchants, affiliates all use this opt-in newsletter strategy even when you end up on their sales page. They may be paying $20 in pay per clicks just to bring a visitor there. If they make a gross of $40 from a sale that’s only $20 net profit after adwords cost. But if they get this client on their mailing list they could make hundreds or thousands in a year from him or her.

Now before you say, this sounds to good to be true, let me tell you that getting email subscribers is not the hardest part. The hardest part is gaining their trust and keeping them on your mailing list. The longer you can keep them on your list, the more likely they are to trust you, your judgement and therefore your recommendations . You see, when you reach this stage with your newsletter clients, you are no longer selling. You are recommending products and services. The gurus also call this soft selling the opposite of hard selling that you usually see.

How do you gain their trust? Simple. Give them plenty of free valuable info in the newsletter. Don’t send them any info you don’t think is worth reading. Remember, your time is precious, so don’t waist the time of your clients either. Do this for a few weeks at least. Keep track of people to see if they actually open the email and read the free newsletter. If they do, you know you are building a relationship, especially if they keep reading the 2nd the 3rd and 4th newsletter knowing there is value to be found there for them. The 5th one can be something they finally have to pay.

If its good, why would they not pay? Only those that are really not serious or just broke will pass.

So if you don’t have a opt-in newsletter form on your website, you are letting lots of money get away. The other great benefit to having an opt in subscribers list is that if suddenly your website falls dramatically in ranking, you are not affected much. Your list could bring you income for many months perhaps years depending on your niche. So if your getting decent amount of traffic, put up your opt-in form today.

Yesterday I came across someone who has a list brokerage service. He provides co registration leads. This was new subject to me so I decided to investigate further. He claims these are marketing people type leads. As incentive to get you to sign up to their opt-in list he automatically commits to giving you 5000 free leads every month for doing nothing. He specifies that you must use the list withing 30 days otherwise it becomes useless.

Now I said its a service so here is how I assume he makes money. Upon the opt-in he provides you a One Time Offer of $29,99 one time price to upgrade to 80,000 monthly leads. The regular price seems to be $99 again a one time fee not monthly. I assume those that are actually going to convert will catch him on the 29,99 offer so if he gets 1000 sales you can see its not a bad monthly income.

He also provides another option to split up the list and resell it for profit. For instance if you had 80,000 monthly leads package, you could charge $10 per 1000 so thats $800. If the leads are half decent I see this as a good income potential from all angles.

You could out sell the list to several online marketers like yourself as well as use the list to promote your own products or services.

So as I said the standard package is 5000 free leads per month for doing nothing other then opting in however if you send more clients you get to upgrade to a bigger monthly leads package. If you refer 50 clients you get the 80,000 leads monthly. There are few more tiers in between but I figured if the list is any decent its a lot better to just pay either the $99 or $29.99

When I first heard about this service I immediately asked myself why would this guy give you 5000 leads that are half decent for free then I looked at like a marketer would.

The 5000 leads is just a free sample of the product. Obviously if you make money from the 5000 you’re going to upgrade to the max. So thats how he makes money. Remember your list is in the hands of maybe 1000 other marketers. So the catch is your emails will probably be competing with subject headlines of the best. Discouraging? Nonsense.

Competition is good. It weeds out those that aren’t motivated enough. I don’t like to recommend anything until I test it myself so I wont provide the source just yet. Stay tuned.. I will report progress and results on this as soon as I have some.
